Step By Step Mode
Prepare the cucumber

  • Peel the cucumber and either grate it or finely chop it. I
  • f the cucumber is particularly watery, you may want to squeeze out some of the excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.

Making Raita

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the plain yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add milk and whisk well
  3. Add the grated or chopped cucumber to the yogurt.
  4. Stir in the roasted cumin powder, black salt (if using), and regular salt to taste.
  5. Add the finely chopped mint or coriander leaves if you prefer a hint of freshness.

Cumin Powder  -  0.5 tbsp
Black Salt  -  0.5 tbsp

Coriander Leaves - Chopped  -  1 tbsp
Garnish and serve

  1. Transfer the raita to a serving bowl.
  2. Garnish with a sprinkle of red chili powder or paprika for a touch of color and a bit of heat.
  3. Add some fresh coriander leaves on top for garnish, if desired.
